BIO

Actress. TV Host. Singer. Songwriter. These are the many labels used to describe Myoshi Marilla.

Best known for her work as TV Host and VJ for BET networks "The BET J List", Myoshi, along with her co-host Maven Huffman, presented a weekly two-hour countdown of the Top 10 Soul and R&B hits featuring artist and celebrity interviews. There was an additional Top 10 list focusing on pop culture and lifestyle in New York City and the world. She had the opportunity to interview people such as Tyson Beckford, Timbaland, The Brand New Heavies, Aaron Neville, and many others. She also introduced many new musical acts in a nationwide forum for the first time.

As an actress, Myoshi has appeared in various commercials, in a featured role on the Tru TV show Parco, P.I., and a "Got Milk?" promo on the Oxygen Network. She just wrapped production of a Columbia University short film entitled "Waiting Game", where she played the lead role of the mom, Ann. Myoshi is currently a student of the Eric Morris System of acting under the instruction of Anthony Vincent Bova at Bova Actors Workshop.

With a theatre background, acting and singing have always gone hand in hand for Myoshi. As a classically trained singer, she has performed with some of Broadway's hottest stars. She's had the pleasure of working alongside Taye Diggs, Capathia Jenkins, and Clint Holmes. Over the years, she has performed in shows throughout the United States and abroad, even singing at a star-studded event for the King of Morocco at his palace in Marrakech, Morocco. She also performed for Robert DeNiro and his wife at a party at their home. From Tokyo to New Zealand and numerous places in between, Myoshi has traveled the globe doing what she loves to do - entertain the people!

Myoshi continues to be very passionate about music. Last year, she put on her producer hat when she was called in by Motema Music to work on Who's That Lady, the latest project from Koko Jones (percussionist - Whitney Houston, Isley Brothers). In addition to co-producing the album, Myoshi is one of the lead vocalists and the vocal arranger on the project.

Laid Bare, Myoshi's brand new album, is set for a summer release. Co-produced by Jesse Fischer and featuring incredible musicians, it's a project near and dear to her heart. Myoshi calls the album "Rock, soul, vintage, and new. It's a little bit of everything. Like me!" The first single, "Wasteland," is available now as a digital single.

Myoshi is a Virginia native but is proud to call New York City her home. She is represented by MSA Models New York for lifestyle modeling work. Myoshi welcomes all new opportunities and looks forward to her next television or film role.
